The term, 'conventional braces', simply describes the type of braces that we are all generally familiar with. Traditional metal fixed braces have been in use for over 100 years and can be used to treat many orthodontic problems. They work by attaching small brackets to your teeth which are connected by an arch wire. A series of different sized wires are used which gradually move your teeth into place.
Your treatment can vary from 6 months to 2 years, depending upon the amount of movement necessary. Once your treatment is completed you will need to wear retainers long-term which will hold the teeth in their new position.
